I would like to take the time to say thank you to a very special person in my life, Mama #EdieAikels, who passed away a few days ago. You were my #gospelmusic Mama who taught me so much more than #singing. I still can’t believe that you are gone. We just spoke a few weeks ago! I am so thankful and blessed for your presence in my life as a mentor, friend and colleague! I wish I could sing with you right now but I know that you are singing with the angels! Thank you for everything Mama! The last song that I sang with you was #Totalpraise by #RichardSmallwood so I thought that I’d play that for you on the piano. I can still hear you voice and see you conducting us! I miss you and I love you! God bless you!!

This was the first song that I ever conducted at New Song 10 years ago. I will never forget this piece and how the Holy Spirit fills my heart each time I step into the family known as New Song Church. Time does fly and each moment is a precious gift from God. Don’t waste it and live in His truth and light!!!
My Soul Does Magnify the Lord
This is one of my favorite songs from our first Christmas Concert 10 years ago. It is based on the Magnificat which is one of the most ancient Christian hymns from the Gospel of Luke where Mary sings that her soul “magnifies the Lord.”
